Types of Invoice Discounting
Confidential Invoice Discounting
A facility where the lender advance money against invoices but has no involvement in collecting the debts. There is also not disclosure on the invoices. On that basis the invoice discounting facility is confidential and your customers are unaware of any lenders involvement.
Disclosed Invoice Discounting
A facility where the lender has no involvement in chasing your invoices. However, in contrast to Confidential Invoice discounting there is a disclosure notice on each invoice that you issue. This means that you keep control of your credit control but your customers are aware that a lender is involved.
Recourse Invoice Discounting
This is where after a period of time called the recourse period the invoices are reassigned to you the customer if they remain unpaid. This means that the funding is provided at your risk.
Non Recourse Invoice Discounting
This is where the invoices are funded without risk to you as a customer as long as they are within the pre agreed credit limit for a particular customer. The facility is non recourse because it includes credit protection cover.
